Jan. 12th, 2004 05:01 pmYes, it's been ages since I've made a real post. I'm a putz.
Christmas and New Year's passed in the usual rush of be here, be there, do this, do that, all at once!, right now! Did get to spend four whole days with P., even though we spent much of it racing around trying to be everywhere at once. Still it was good to be together again.
Had a touch of food poisoning on Dec 30th, which distracted my immune system just enough that it couldn't fight off a nasty cold. Ended up spending New Year's hiding in bed, drowning in endless pots of tea and working my way through boxes of tissues.
This past Saturday I went to the Discovery Channel Store to weigh in for the Discovery Channel's National Health Challenge. (thanks to
jetgrrl01 for the heads up on this!) By the time I got there around mid-afternoon, they'd already had over 2,000 people sign up to weigh in, and they weren't taking any more for "official" weigh-ins. They did, however, have a form you could fill out and they'll mail you the startup kit. (So I did.) They didn't know if Bally's would be willing to give away more of those free 3-month memberships, for which the Discovery people apologized. Still, they were so darned polite about it, I wasn't really annoyed, just disappointed.
Entered my information online, but have yet to receive a password so I can log back in. Gee, I wonder if they were a just a teensy little bit swamped...!
I've been working on reducing caloric intake, and started wearing my pedometer again.
Hopefully having a specific challenge like this will help me get going.
