Last week I got a package in the mail. Since I was at work, it was left at the apartment office and I had to wait until the next day to pick it up.

Turned out to be from [livejournal.com profile] rothko and [livejournal.com profile] meta. Much ripping ensued (after a great deal of cutting- I think Roth may have inherited the "tape" gene from our mutual Grandma. *laugh*) and after wading through packing peanuts, newspaper, and bubble wrap, I found a present!

(After reading the story of their Christmas trip, I wasn't too surprised to discover the package contained something from Las Vegas.)

They sent me a lovely miniature statue of Sekhmet. It's beautiful- Thank you!! (rather belated...)

I'm starting to have quite the little collection of Egyptian related things. I've got a few small god/ess statuettes, a larger one of Bast (in her full feline form), and a 16" replica of the Rosetta Stone.

Sekhmet is usually remembered now as the Egyptian goddess of war and vengeance; most don't know she was also the goddess of wisdom, justice, and healing.
