Today our illustrious *cough*hack* governor announced that he wasn't going to run again.

Hurray!!!

Claimed that the press is "too mean" to his family, among other things.

(And to think they called Perpich "Governor Goofy"...)

Isn't it amazing how the bigger the bully, the thinner the skin? He acts like a loudmouthed jackass on a daily basis, but if anyone questions him on anything, they're being mean and unfair. If he's asked to explain his position, he's being harassed. He badmouths anyone he wants, but if anyone calls him on it "it's not fair." He doesn't do his job, but it's "not his fault".

The announcement came on the heels of a WCCO I-Team investigation into Tyrel Ventura (his son) using the Governor's Residence as a personal party house. Seems the staff had to remove his drunken/passed out friends some mornings so they could set up for official receptions; liquor would disappear from the catering cabinets; they'd find puddles of puke on antique furniture and rugs; many instances of under-age drinking; several security breaches; etc. Tyrel Ventura claims that he never had more than two or three people to the mansion at any time; unfortunately for him, the State Patrol security detail requires that people sign in, so there are volumes of proof that he's lying.

(The Governor and his wife spend most of their time on their "ranch" in Maple Grove, and had let their (now 22-year-old) son live alone at the official residence up until they ordered it closed in April.)
