I remember a news story I read a couple years ago, about a couple guys who carjacked a donut truck. Apparently it led to a high speed police chase through whatever city it was in. In talking to the press afterwards, one of the police officers said: "I'm just glad this happened in the middle of the night, otherwise I'm sure we'd have caught all kinds of hell about it..."
I'm sorry, but the 9/11 divorce one is kind of the epitome of "D'oh!" :)
