Apr. 6th, 2002 12:47 amTaxes are HELL.
I've only had to file the full 1040 once before (last year), and even then it wasn't too horrible.
This year... this year, I'm having to file the full 1040 with a schedule C (business profit & loss), medical deductions, and a lot of other crap. I've been working on this for a couple hours now tonight, and I've only got the basic info (personal, W2's) and part of a Schedule C entered.
This sucks. I'm starting to wish I'd gone to an accountant. Or stuck with it when I first started entering things a few weeks ago- had to restart tonight because my password into my original info on hrblock.com is refusing to work.
I'm starting to think that a trip down to use Mom & Dad's TurboTax may be a good idea... I'll work on this some more tomorrow, and if it doesn't start getting better, I travel.

Date: 2002-04-06 08:21 am (UTC)I don't like TurboTax because the company's Mac support is terrible. I used Kiplinger TaxCut one year--cheaper and faster, and not plastered with ads. I'd use it every year if our taxes weren't so complicated. It didn't really do much to automate the dreaded Form 1116, which even the folks at H&R Block have great trouble understanding. Given that you don't have savings accounts overseas, you should do fine with TaxCut.
