No Check of Bunker, Unit Commander Says 10/27/04, New York Times

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) was only recently informed that these explosives have been missing for some time, quite possibly since April 2003, after the site was supposedly inspected and secured by the US military after the invasion of Iraq. (It is possible that some of these explosives have actually been used- against US troops in Iraq.)

Bush's plan for invasion had no arrangements in place for guarding national treasures- or even, apparently, weapons stockpiles that had been reported, inspected, and sealed by the IAEA and the UN weapons inspectors before the invasion, and which were under constant (US) satellite watch prior to the invasion.

Bush and Cheney are both on the campaign trail saying it's not their fault the explosives weren't guarded after the invasion.

Apparently we no longer live in a time when the Commander in Chief takes responsibility for what happens under his watch.

What ever happened to "the buck stops here"?
