Here, too?
Oct. 27th, 2004 01:02 am3 former workers: Firm paid pro-Bush bonuses Sproul & Associates hired part-time and temporary workers who got an hourly rate, plus $3 for every Bush, undecided, and Nader registration. There was no bonus for Democratic registrations. Since MN does not include a spot on the registration form to declare your party affiliation, workers had to get that information from people and report back to Sproul. Sproul then had verifiers call each person who registered to verify that they were a Bush supporter.
(Sproul & Associates was hired by the Republican National Committee. They have been involved in registration scandals already this year in Nevada, Arizona, and other states, after former employees started coming forward to report that non-Republican registrations were being discarded and/or destroyed.)
Tonight I had a call from the Bush campaign, asking if the President could expect my support on election day. I politely but firmly said "no, he certainly may not", and then thanked the nice woman who called for being involved in the process. She seemed quite startled by that.
Not sure why they called me, as I'm surely not on any of the Republican donor lists! Must be because of the zipcode/neighborhood I'm in.
