asherisWhat is with the apparent trend of putting your Bush/Cheney re-election sticker on the back window of your car, blocking the 3rd brake light?
When I first noticed this a week or so ago, I thought someone had simply made a bad placement choice. Since then, I've been noticing it on an increasing number of cars.
I know it's illegal under federal law to remove or disconnect the third brake light on any vehicle manufactured after 1986; logic would suggest that blocking it would be illegal as well, but I'll have to look up the text of the original law (from 1983) to see if that's the case.
In the scope of things it's pretty minor, but when you're on the road it's really noticable! Besides, I'm wondering if someone is suggesting to people that they put the stickers there? Having so many showing up within a short time period just seems to say "coordination" - or perhaps just "really bad advice!"
(note: I don't care WHAT sticker you put over the third brake light- it's dumb, and very possibly illegal. I specifically mentioned Bush/Cheney stickers because those are the only ones I've seen used in this manner.)
