Went over to my sister's this evening to check on her cat. They just got him a couple days ago, and both she and her roommate are gone for several days over the holiday. Sad story of how he came to them- a friend of theirs from Gustavus died earlier this week when the sweeper she was driving rolled.

Gordon was one of the cats that girl and her roommate had; J & T adopted him. He's a sweetie- sort of an orange and white pattern, very friendly, loves to play, and I think he's pretty young, yet. They were worried about him because that's a pretty sudden change, he's now an only cat (was one of four-five), in a new place, and they're gone.

So, went over to check in on him and hang around a bit. Took over my copy of The Lion in Winter, which I still hadn't watched, and finally saw that. Damn, that is a magnificent film! I've heard so much about it, and it's even better than I expected.

Since my sister had mentioned that Gordon didn't have much in the way of toys yet, I took over a little catnip and a few fleecy fabric scraps, and quick-sewed a couple of toys. I'm not much good at sewing but since these didn't need to be pretty, just sturdy, I think they'll be fine! He sure seemed to like them! Also took over a few "jingle balls" I had still in the package- my cats have a couple out already, so no biggie.

Anyway, that was my night!

The haircolor came out okay, a bit bright, but it's that way for the first couple days even with semi-perms, so I'll not panic- yet!

I'm glad you saw that movie! It's certainly one of my favorites ever.

Good luck with your semi-perm. How far off is it from your normal color?

I usually use a semi-perm (Natural Instinct's "Cinnaberry"), but got wacky and tried the Herbal Essences (permanent) Spicy Ginger. I was thinking of it as an overlay color, like semi-perms usually are, forgetting that permanent colors usually have some sort of lightening agent.

So, my hair is lighter and brighter than usual. And redder. Much, much redder. Full auburn, instead of coppery brown.

It's... a change. Not sure how I feel about it.
