asherisMom was up to visit yesterday, so we wandered through Dayton's (oh, excuse me, Marshall Fields. But it shall continue to be referred to as Dayton's, so nyah.) downtown, went to the cemetery, and then to the "MegaMall". They had the Charlie Brown statues scattered around on the first level, so we did a tour of them.
Mostly just wandered; found a few things on sale that we picked up. (The floating gel candles shaped & colored like fall leaves are gorgeous!)
Had my birthday cake 4 weeks late, and some little "fun" prezzies. A Hedwig ornament, various Harry Potter folders, and a Harry Potter pencil case, with a golden snitch pencil sharpener and a ruler with handy witchy shapes inside for tracing.
They go nicely with my two Hermione figurines. (What can I say, one of them is a figure of Hermione in her robes, reading a book, sitting on a stack of books with titles like "Magic" and "Spells". It was just too appropriate- or should I say accurate?! *grin*)
Speaking of witchy fun, I found a couple pair of great Halloween socks. One pair has black & white cross-wise stripes on top, orange on the bottom, and black over the ankles where there's a black and orange pointed hat with a gold start dangling from the point. On the bottoms, it says "witchy feet". The other pair is white, with colorful cauldrons, broomsticks, witchy shoes, orange sunglasses, and pointy purple wizard hats.
They're silly, but hey. Sometimes you need a touch of silliness!
