If you haven't seen it yet, go read Susan Sontag's essay on the current "war on terrorism". (schpahky was nice enough to include it in her journal.)

We need more voices speaking the truth about what's happening here. As I commented there, I suppose, because it's the pure, unvarnished truth at a time when people want platitudes, she'll be roundly condemned for it.

I've already read two separate articles condemning her. In fact, I saw the condemnations before I saw the article.
