Right, just placed an order to take advantage of Amazon's new "free super-saver shipping on orders over $25". (Yes, twenty-five dollars. For that, it's fine with me if it takes "7-10" days instead of the usual 5-7.)

On the way are:

• The Lion in Winter (VHS- only $4.97!)
  
  
• Don't Make Me Think: A Common Sense Approach to Web Usability (Which I've been considering for a while; when I found it also has sections specifically on writing for the web, I decided on this rather than a combination of other books)
  
  
• Green Witchcraft III: The Manual (This is the only one of Ann Moura's books I don't have yet and I figured, free shipping, well, okay...)
  

And now that I've wasted spent an hour picking out and ordering books, I suppose I'd better get back to work...!

I've heard that Don't Make Me Think is an excellent book. I've flipped through it and it looks really interesting and well laid-out, too. And I should hope so, with a book about usability... ;)

I was surprised at how many of the "usability" book reviews pointed out how UNusable some are! Either the books or the associated sites are just ridiculous- sorry, if you can't even put into practice what you write about, I'm not going to take you very seriously!

This one had a 4.5/5 with 150-some reviews, which is a pretty good sign. I'm looking forward to seeing it!

*heh* We'll see how many ages it takes me to review it- I still need to write up a review of curmudgeon's book, Working in the Dark: Keeping Your Job While Dealing With Depression, which I picked up back in March...!
