Damn, I was really hoping War Emblem would manage a Triple Crown today, but that near fall out of the gate pretty much knocked him out of the running. Not for a lack of trying, but it was too much to counter. They didn't mention it except in passing, but I noticed Espinoza was pulling him up a bit those last three furlongs, holding him in- and he wasn't fighting it, which seems out of character. I wonder if we'll hear tomorrow that there was some minor injury involved.

I'm glad if he couldn't do it, that it was a total long shot. Sarava had the longest odds ever for a horse winning the Belmont.
