Apr. 16th, 2002 01:02 pmHit 91 degrees here yesterday, breaking both the daily record as well as the record for the earliest 90-degree day in the year. Our first 80 and 90 of the year in the same day. (My hometown hit 93.) That was around 30-35 degrees warmer than usual. I sat out on the balcony yesterday and had coffee and strawberries for breakfast, soaking up some sun.
It's "only" supposed to hit 86 today before the storms move in; it's already VERY windy. The next couple days will allegedly be 70-ish, then it's back to normal.
The past few days gave the trees a good start, though- starting to see a lot of "green haze" around many. You can almost see the change if you look every couple of hours, they're budding out so fast. Wish I'd had a chance to start seeds over the weekend! Soil sure would have warmed up nice.
