(no subject)
Apr. 14th, 2002 12:52 amI found this article interesting, particularly in light of how I've been feeling about these things lately. (As evidenced by an entry I made earlier this week; and I'm not the only one-
joviansun commented on a similar topic.)
There have also been articles on this subject in major newspapers, such as Religion expands influence over the political arena by Robyn Blumner and Is Jesus the only way to God? Yes, no, maybe by Martha Sawyer Allen.
The Religion Today by Amy Green on April 11th was discouraging.
There was a very interesting piece I saw on the Opinion/Commentary pages within the past few weeks, but I can't seem to find it again. It was about people's perceptions of religion in society now as compared to the past, and how they really compared. The writer said that according to a recent poll, a (simple) majority of Americans interviewed felt that the country was less publically and politically religious than it was in the 50's; when in fact the opposite was true, if you compare apples to apples.
I wish I could find it. I've been searching online off and on all evening as I remember different aspects of it that might work as keywords, but no luck.
