I'm so glad the government is spending it's money protecting us from peace-song-singing former pop stars.

Oh, and from Senators and Representatives who are on their way back to Washington, DC.

Today the word got out that if you took a commercial flight within the US in June 2004, airlines are being required to hand over your information to the TSA so they can try out their new "Secure Flight" system.

The "passenger name record" (PNR) being handed over varies a little by airline, but typically contains information such as: name, flight origin, flight destination, flight time, duration of flight, seat location, travel agent and form of payment. It can also include credit card numbers and expiration date, travel itinerary including details of hotel and rental car reservations, address, telephone number, frequent flyer account numbers, and meal requests. If you're travelling on business, it can also include information about your employer.

Also, a few (dozen) indictments I haven't seen on the front page of the local paper yet.

The article includes: "DeLay, the second-ranking House member, dismissed as frivolous a complaint filed with the House ethics committee that alleges he abused his office for political purposes."

I guess he doesn't think using the Department of Homeland Security to trace the movements of Democratic Texas state representatives - by giving them false information - is an abuse of power. (Among other things...)
