New depths of stupidity

Stated by President George W. Bush on NPR this morning:
"I don't think anybody anticipated the breaking of the levees, I don't think anybody anticipated such a severe storm."
Just when you think the man can't possbly say anything more stupid than he has in the past, he wows you with his ability to reach new depths.
Yeah. Nobody except everybody that lives in the area; anybody watching the weather reports anywhere around the world; anybody that paid attention to what FEMA and other have been saying for years now; the Louisiana State government and the New Orleans city government, who were angry that flood prevention funding was being cut and sent to Iraq instead...
You know. Nobody that matters to that chimp in the White House.
Pity he didn't pay more attention, 'cause now his precious oil company buddies are feeling the pain. (At least until they can find a way to pass their costs on to us, while still taking home their multi-million dollar bonuses.)
I used to think I was cynical about politics... but in the last 5 years, I've reached whole new heights of cynicism that I never knew existed.
