Microsoft Word security flaw allows documents to be 'bugged'

Microsoft's response? They'll fix it for the most recent versions, but Word 97 users are SOL. Unfortunately that's the version where the problem is the most severe.

I can understand that they can't keep making changes in every version of every product they've ever made, but since Word97 is still in very widespread use, I would think they'd have a little more sense than to cut off so many people. Sure, they want people to buy the newest versions, but even those are affected.

I keep waiting for the lawsuit from a company that lost sensitive data due to flaws in M$ software (downtime, crashes, being cracked, etc.), claiming that M$ knowingly sold a defective/flawed product and is thus at least partially responsible for the loss.

Hey, I can dream...

Cop mistakenly fired handgun instead of stun gun into man

I couldn't figure out how the heck you could mix those two things up (a handgun vs. the standard blocky-looking contact stun-gun thing), so I checked the Taser site and discovered that they do have models that look like handguns.
