Wow, midnight, and it's still 89F (in downtown Minneapolis; 84 in Eden Prairie). Guess the AC stays on all night...!

Went down and spent some time on the exercise bike tonight, and did the yoga/pilates thing out of Shape last night. Also spent two hours walking around the megamall Thursday evening, so that's three days in a row. Yay me! The knee has been a problem again lately; back to constant, mild swelling. Hopefully nothing serious; it's possible it's just all the hot/cold changes of late irritating things, what with being in and out of the AC.

Sort of by accident I've been doing a little better with my eating habits the last week, too. Dare I hope the combination helps...?

AC is a wonderful thing, but there's a catch. In the heat, you usually remember to drink a lot of fluids so that you don't get dehydrated. In the AC, it's too easy to forget that one of the primary cooling features is that it dehumidifies the air, so you can get just as dehydrated as you would in the heat.

Speaking of, better go check to make sure the AC is draining properly. After a moment outside doing that, it should feel ever so much cooler in here!

Currently 97, heat index of 107. Perfect weather for baking bread. At least for me... only time I've ever gotten bread dough to rise properly is when it's very hot and humid and I set the bowl out (well covered) on the balcony in the heat. Made some fabulous bread last August with that method. Then again, I've already got a whole loaf in the fridge, so maybe I'll wait a few days- supposed to be almost as hot next weekend.
