May. 20th, 2002 10:18 pmI was out yesterday looking at houses far out of my price range. Hey, they have open houses, why not? *grin* I've been curious about a few of them, and it was neat to see what they were like on the inside. Actually, I only went intending to look at a couple, but there were half a dozen more on the way to Home Depot, so gosh, what was I supposed to do?
I was partly inspired to look after seeing that
tygermoonfoxx and
simtra just bought a house. Very nice floor plan, too!
I've also been looking at home plans online. I do that every now and again. I would like to know what some of the designers are smoking, though. So many of the plans out there have loads of wasted space, poorly laid out bathrooms and kitchens... bathrooms that are only accessable by going through one or more bedrooms? Odd.
I've saved a couple of the floor plan images, and I might toy around with them in Fireworks, see if I can't come up with something better- mainly because I'm curious what I would come up with.
Anyway... got to Home Depot and spent the better part of an hour browsing through their plants. Unfortunately they were out of rosemary, so I'll have to go back in a week or so, see if they've got more in.
Came home with two little pots each of lobelia and pansies, and a 12 pack of snapdragons. I haven't tried growing those before, but they just looked right. The lobelia is lovely, all leggy green with those little, deep blue flowers; the pansies are mixes of blues, lavenders, and yellows. I found the pack of snapdragons with the widest variety of colors, so I've got yellow, orange, scarlet, pink, and almost-white. A couple of them don't have any blooms yet, so I've a few mystery colors, too.
Still need to get them transplanted, probably do that tomorrow morning when the sun will be on them. Did get the peas, zuchinni, morning glories and cinnamon basil transplanted this afternoon; hopefully it won't get too chilly for them tonight.
