eep!

Completely forgot until about 10 last night that Mom and Dad will be in town for a play today. Since I had one of those headaches that reminds you exactly where your sinuses are, I left cleaning for today. Unfortunately the headache's still here, and I have about four hours left until they get here.

I think I may be relying on the "box and closet" method of cleaning- chuck the stuff lying about into boxes, and shove them in the closet!

Managed a fairly good surface cleaning. Have a box of stuff that I need to sort through (instead of having a big pile on the table that I need to sort through). Did three loads of laundry and one dishwasher load, gave the place a thorough vacuuming, and put away several things that have been sitting out for far too long. Cleaned the kitchen, gave the bathroom a one-over, and cleaned the catbox before taking a shower- and even had half an hour to lie down before they got here!

Hrm... maybe I should do thorough cleanings more often... Then again, I did a thorough bathroom cleaning last week. Too easy to just do a surface clean from time to time. :P

Stacked the other dishes to be washed in the dishwasher; otherwise Mom comes in, sees them, and insists on handwashing them. Sorted those out after they left and started another load. (Wouldn't be so bad, but I did some major cooking in the last few days and have lots of bulky things. Can only fit so much in there at a time.)


Very lousy internet connection this evening. Keeps dropping every few minutes.I'm sure if I call, they'll claim it's the rain- or the humidity. They use weather as an excuse for anything- too hot, too cold, too wet, too dry- you have a complaint, they can find a weather-related reason for it.
