Long days.

Connect 2002 conference today, spent the whole day there. Helped set up and tear down, and went to a couple of the sessions. Interesting, but I'm too tired to process things at the moment.

A friend's dog got hit by a car yesterday; Berk's expected to be fine, but she had to be stitched up, and it was pretty bad. She's at home but not moving a lot yet, and there is still a risk of infection. Poor girl. Stopped by last night to see how she was, and I don't think I've *ever* seen that dog so quiet and still. I've just agreed to dog-nurse tomorrow for a couple hours when he can't be there. Not sure what I'll do if she needs to go out, I sure can't carry her!

"Mirror, mirror on the wall who is the fairest of them all?" The reason why this phrase has earned such a special place in our cultural heritage is that it conjures, in its imagery, an impossible idea. Mirrors do not judge. They do not make comparisons. When we look into them we see only ourselves looking back out - although, if we look very carefully we can sometimes see ourselves judging ourselves! Our own judgements though, are entirely subjective. If you really want to know how you are coming across, look at what is being reflected in a certain person’s eyes.

Mr. Cainer says such nice things...
