Feb. 7th, 2002 12:43 pmFinally... think I'm getting better. Still have a bit of a fever from time to time, I'm wiped out, and of course the (often disgusting-sounding) cough will linger to the bitter end, but I seem to over the worst.
Which is good. Being sick is boring as all hell.
Of course, (gee, am I really surprised?) woke up with the early virual auras indicating the onset of a migraine. Bugger. Still, if I whomped it hard enough right away (and I think I did), I might get away with just feeling sort of groggy and "off", and have an aversion to bright light. Then again, I was already feeling "off" from the creeping crud, and between that and the knee I'm not really getting out much, so it probably won't be a big deal.
Besides, if it gets too bad, I'll just take one of my spare vicodin and sleep it off. :)
In other news... it seems Dave has decided he no longer needs help with the freelance project I've been working on. He thinks he has it well in hand, though that last collection of files he sent sure doesn't look it... (*worries* he's a fabulous graphics guy; but page structure and coding are NOT his strengths, shall we say...) Still, I did let him know that I'm available if he needs a hand with it, whether that be keeping up with content insertion, code checking, proofing, or reconstructing sections as the client keeps changing their mind. Hopefully I'll get a bit more work on that, heaven knows I could use the income.
Sent him an invoice the other day for the last of the work. Found out that the reason he hasn't been paid is that his client relies a fair bit on income from one of THEIR largest clients, which apparently recently changed to 60-day invoice payment from the old 30-day. This, of course, disrupts accounting all down the line. It'll be there eventually, but it's hard on all the people who have to adjust their schedules and budgets to accomodate it in the meantime!
Otherwise, I'm hoping to be back to doing clerical for Woody's company part-time by next week. (Not great income, but it's something, and it'll get me out of the house.) My knee's finally doing well enough that I think I could do a few hours a day, as long as I don't spend too much time on my feet. He's primarily got me sorting out literally YEARS of papers in some cases. I've already received a VERY grateful thank-you from his accountant. *grin*
Now, if I could only convince myself to get my OWN crap sorted and filed, instead of keeping it in heaps... I know what's where, mind, but it'd still LOOK a lot better (and probably take up less space!)if it were properly filed.
But for now, a light snack and a nap, while the latest dose of Excedrin Migraine sets to work.
