To the editor:
In recent weeks a rumor has been racing through various unions that if Tim Penny is elected he will be keeping all the current commissioners in place.
This is absolutely not true.
Tim Penny has said repeatedly that if elected, he will hire a Cabinet based on merit. There are a few Commissioners -- and he always stresses FEW -- that he MAY rehire, but they will all go through the interview process.
I have known Tim Penny for over 20 years, and I know that he is trustworthy, tough as nails, and honest to the end. He does not use the "traditional" campaign methods of backhanded rumor-mongering, untruths, and exaggerations about his opponents. He runs a clean campaign, and is as disgusted as everyone else by the petty partisan bull that we've been seeing so much of in the current legislature.
I am the daughter, granddaughter, niece, sister, and cousin of union members. I assure you that Tim Penny is a friend to the unions. Don't let cowardly anonymous whispers tell you otherwise.
