Well!
Discovered that my free shelving unit isn't some cheapy thing after all, but made of actual wood, not particle board and veneer. Very cool.
Installed the new backing and the fluorescent "under cupboard" unit (with the "sunlight" tube), and hung the 24x24" mirror that I've had for a couple of years in the top section, so it's behind the plants and reflects the "extra" light out into the room. Moved my 2-gallon fishtank into the bottom part of the top section, and the Remington reproduction. (Only put one shelf in the top section, instead of three- leaves space for plants to have some height above, and enough height for the fish tank below.)
Still have two shelves in the bottom section open for... something. Maybe I could use that for my "fancy" books, as a sort of display.
Now to figure out where I'm going to move the end table cabinet thing... there are a couple options, but they all involve moving other things out of the way, and not knowing where to put those. Rather like those little slider puzzles. I need to be a little more adventurous in my room arrangements. At the moment, most things are against the walls which is so very blah.
I don't know if I should be happy I'm getting ideas, or if I should be afraid! *wry grin*
